Orlando, FL – Special Event

Stand-Up for Suicide Prevention is a reception and comedy show benefiting a new local nonprofit, Peer Support Space, Inc., a grassroots organization led by and for those in recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, trauma, grief or other obstacles to wellness. They use, and help others use, the power of lived experience to support, educate, and guide one another while providing additional, free options for mental wellness. We invite you to join us for this unique fundraiser that inspires beginning conversations about mental health through a mix-and-mingle reception where its “okay to not be okay” followed by a unique dark humor comedy skit “My Suicide Note” led by, TEDx speaker, Collin Williams. Williams takes his actual note from his attempted suicide, and uses a decade of experience as a standup comedian and storyteller to weave humor in and out of a truly astounding life story that’s been described as “honest, heart-wrenching, yet somehow FUNNY!”. We hope this show brings awareness to how we all heal in different ways. 100% of event proceeds will go to Peer Support Space, Inc. as they work to fill gaps in our local mental health system by building diverse peer recovery communities and services.
